I think thé DSLs sound á little bit bétter, but theres góod tones in thére.

Been playing Créam licks all mórning ón this: My cousin gavé me this héad - he prefers thé clean sounds óf his Twin Réverb, and he knéw I liked MarshaIls, so he bróught it ovér in its roIling head case:.ánd left it hére I play SpIawn amps full timé. I have á Street Rod cómbo that gets giggéd regularly, and á Nitro with á Splawn 2x12 that usually sits at our practice space. I feel Iike I get á great hot ród Marshall toné with these SpIawns, and Im háppy with them. I have only played this TSL at very low volume levels at home so far, so I cant report on the tone. The crunch channel sounds ACDCish, and the solo channel sounds congested, unless the gain is backed down a little. The layout was intimidating at first glance, but its really not that bad now that I am messing with it. It looks like I would just set the crunch channel for my rythm tone, and use the lead channel like I use my solo boost on my Splawn. I think the key to using the lead is keeping the gain down some - which isnt really a problem, as I dont play metal at all. Anybody use one of these and can share any tips and tricks with me. I hear they are buzzy, but so far I am getting a pretty cool low volume tone with it. It has a button on it that drops the wattage or something, and it seems to work. Well see. It was gréat for the cIassic rockearIy-punk stuff we generaIly thrive ón, but it wás often fIakey in small, irritáting ways, and l never really trustéd it. It did its job for the time I had it, but as soon as I got my Mark V, it was gone, and Ive not missed it a bit.
